In the run up to Christmas and Three Kings, Marbella Council intends to ensure that the entire city is clean, tidy and decked out with seasonal blooms.
It has spent €60,000 on purchasing 30,000 poinsettias and 3,000 cyclamen which will be planted in public squares and avenues where appropriate as well as 350 hanging baskets which will be affixed to street lights in the Old Town and there will be a number of specially produced structures full of these plants.
In addition to putting out the plants, council workers will be involved in ensuring that all open areas over which the council has control will be pruned, mowed or simply cleaned to ensure that the run up to the festive season leaves Marbella looking at its very best for the benefit of visitors and residents alike.
In order to ensure that all is kept pristine, the council is also encouraging people living in the city to respect all of the regulations concerning waste and rubbish and to refrain from removing the plants from their positions.
