1. Marbella Club Golf Resort

Awesome in its simplicity, style and pedigree. This is the beautiful 18 hole Marbella Club Golf Resort, designed by Dave Thomas. Situated amidst the hills of Benahavis, this magnificent Marbella golf course in the heart of the Costa del Sol enjoys spectacular views of Gibraltar, the African Coastline, the Mediterranean and the surrounding mountains.

With limited play and twelve minutes between tee times, over-crowded rounds are not a concern at the Marbella Club Golf Course. Required handicaps: Ladies 36, Gentleman 28.

2. Villa Padierna Golf Club

Nestled in natural surroundings of incomparable beauty beside the Mediterranean Sea sits the Villa Padierna Golf Resort, where playing golf is an exceptional experience. The exquisite atmosphere with cutting edge facilities and customised service is all there for you to enjoy and appreciate the little details. The resort has three courses: Flamingos Golf, Alferini Golf and Tramores Golf; as well as the Villa Padierna Michael Campbell Golf Academy—the only school in Europe specialising in the short game and private classes.

Green fee prices start at € 80,- for the Tramores course, € 89,- for the Flamingos course and € 95,- for the Alferini course.

3. Calanova Golf Club 

Calanova Golf Club is located in Mijas Golf Valley, 10 kilometres from Fuengirola and 15 kilometres from Marbella. The course is an 18-hole, par-72 of 5.866 metres long and has been built according to USGA rules and regulations.

We can guaranty that players will enjoy this course, where the game strategy plays and important role. It includes, among others, the following features:  Extraordinary landscape views, including Mediterranean Sea and Mijas Mountains, in almost every hole.

4. Marbella Golf Country Club

Designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Senior, and located just 5 minutes drive from Marbella city centre, Marbella Golf Country Club provides one of the best and most challenging golfing experiences on the Costa Del Sol.

Marbella Golf CC is a difficult but enjoyable challenge, set amidst the rolling countryside of Andalucía. Many bunkers and the rough can be difficult for shots that stray. Several lakes, which enhance the scenic value of the golf course particularly on the back nine, have to be successfully negotiated to preserve a reasonable scorecard. Every hole is unique in design and character while affording views of the Mediterranean Sea.

5. Santa Clara Golf Club Marbella

The golf course at Santa Clara, designed by Enrique Canales Busquets, has been created with respect for the natural environment of indigenous wildlife and vegetation, providing a fantastic meeting place for golf enthusiasts. Along its eighteen holes, a par 71 of 5,878 meters, you will enjoy a stimulating and unforgettable round that will make you want to stay with there.

Santa Clara Golf Marbella presents a technically challenging but straightforward and pleasant round, wide fairways with little rough and open greens without pronounced slope.

6. Santana Golf and Country Club

Situated at between La Cala de Mijas and Fuengirola, Santana Golf Course and Country Club lies with breathtaking views of the Mijas mountains, close to the Mediterranean sea. The course is an 18 hole par-72 golf course of approx. 6207 metres in length, set in 138 acres of picturesque parkland. Santana Golf, sympathetically laid out by the architect Cabell B. Robinson, is set in a former avocado plantation which provided a natural solution to many problems. The final result is a magnificent course with wide and well-defined fairways on level terrain, hence easily walkable, where water features play an important albeit not excessive part in the overall design.

7. Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club

The Los Arqueros Golf Course is situated less than an hour from the international airports of Malaga and Gibraltar, and is only 10 minutes from Marbella. It was the first golf course in Spain to be designed by Severiano Ballesteros.

As its designer himself says, Los Arqueros is a good course for players of all kinds – a reasonable challenge for the average golfer and a gruelling test for professionals. It is situated among the mountains of the Sierra de Ronda mountain range which has endowed it with a layout with is both quite original and extremely beautiful. Its wonderful location on the Costa del Sol makes it the ideal place for a stress-free golfing holiday.

8. Chaparral Golf Club

Chaparral Golf Club is a 18 hole golf course situated in one of the most privileged settings on the Costa del Sol, close to Fuengirola and less than half an hour from Malaga airport and Marbella.

It´s the only course on the Costa del Sol with 6 par 5’s, 6 par 4’s and 6 par 3’s and though not excessively long (5,800 meters), you will find a large variety of holes that are enjoyed by players of all levels. Its success has been assured by the exceptional surroundings, facilities and quality of service.

The magnificent sea views (only 700 meters from the beach) together with the rich vegetation and the surrounding lush pine tree forest have turned Chaparral into a natural and golfers´ paradise with a unique scenery from every hole.

9. Mijas Golf

The courses of Mijas Golf – Los Lagos and Los Olivos – are situated in the valley of Mijas, north of Fuengirola. Only twenty minutes from Málaga international airport and Marbella, and 3.5 kilometers from the sea.

Keeping the original design of Robert Trent Jones Sr., the course has been totally refurbished in 2012. The gentle outlines of the Los Lagos course in contrast to the stunning “Bridge-ball” will not leave anybody indifferent; proving that it is possible to mix tradition and innovation on a golf course.

Green fees start at € 43,- for the Los Olivos course and € 49,- for Los Lagos course.

10. La Quinta Golf & Country Club

La Quinta Golf & Country Club is one of the busiest golf resorts on the Costa del Sol/Costa del Golf. It is situated on the road to Ronda, very close to Malaga and just opposite the Puerto Banús tourist resort. The course was designed by two Spanish professional players, Antonio Garrido and Manuel Piñero.

La Quinta is a comfortable and fun course which is suitable for players of all levels, with the difficulty lying in the uneven fairways and the deep bunkers.
There is an 18-hole course and another of 9 holes which can be combined to suit the wishes of the player. La Quinta has a great clubhouse offering activities such as a gym, paddle-tennis courts, a swimming pool, squash courts, Turkish baths and a therapy and beauty centre.

11. Cerrado del Aguila Golf & Resort

Cerrado del Águila Golf & Resort is a nine hole course designed by Francisco Navarro and situated next to the old Mijas race-track, it has extensive views of the sea from many of the holes. With its flat, wide, open fairways and medium-sized greens this is a reasonably easy course to play. There are two par-5 holes, the 2nd and the 9th, of 520 and 555 metres respectively, and all the greens have a variety of pin positions.

12. Alhaurín Golf Resort

Alhaurín Golf Resort has views of the Mijas mountain range and the Mediterranean Sea and is situated only 20 minutes from Mijas Costa and 25 minutes from the Malaga and Marbella airport. In no time you will find yourself in a completely different atmosphere, worth seeing and feeling.

Alhaurín Golf offers a spectacular 18-hole course designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The golf course requires you to use all clubs in your bag and offers a day of golf where every hole is different. The vegetation is a sample of the Mediterranean forest with a large variety of pines, oaks, cypresses, orange trees and aromatic plants such as rosemary and thyme.

13. Atalaya Golf & Country Club

Atalaya Golf & Country Club has two splendid 18-hole courses, the Old Course and the New Course. As its name indicates, the Old Course is the one that was built first, and was inaugurated in 1968. The club lies between Estepona and Marbella and apart from the two 18-hole courses it also offers one of the biggest practice courses in Spain where golf classes are taught in a variety of languages.

The Old Course offers an entertaining round and is not particularly difficult, but greens are fast and views are beautiful. The New Course was inaugurated in 1992. It is close to the Old Course but faces inwards towards the mountains. Its strategic position gives it spectacular panoramic views. It is a course which is suitable for players of all levels.

14. El Paraiso Golf Club

El Paraiso Golf Club’s greatest appeal is its location. The weather in southern Spain is world renowned, with over 300 days of sunshine every year. Situated 14 kilometers from Marbella in a valley surrounded by hills with magnificent views of the coast, it was designed with great attention to detail by Gary Player.

The designers laid out the course to take advantage of the slope of a hill which runs down to the sea. The clubhouse, situated in the middle of the course, is rustic but very popular. The course has fairways which are quite wide, but you have to attack them quite carefully, because the roughs are dangerous traps. The water hazards play an important role, both for the beauty they add to the course and because of the dangerous streams lying hidden in the roughs.

15. La Noria Golf Resort

The “La Noria Golf Resort” is a 9-hole course with a par of 33, combining technical holes, 4 par-3s, 4 par-4’s and 1 par-5. It is situated in the Cala de Mijas bay, a fantastic location between Fuengirola and Marbella. It is a completely flat course, and the greatest difficulty lies in the shots to the green. The greens are very well defended by three lakes and a gully running right through the course. The course was designed for players of all levels.
